Arizona

Beck and I recently went out to Phoeniz AZ for a week and visited the Beer family.  The trip was busy and went fast, keeping up with 3 kids everyday, but was super fun.  It was neat to see Beckham interact with Georgia and Norah - he really liked both of them.  He was a little too aggressive for little Norah and played with all the wrong toys of Georgia's ... but I think the girls still liked having him around.  Georgia called Beckham "the boy" and by the end of the week she even called him "Georgia's boy".. very sweet.  Georgia, Beck is all yours... I would love to be able to put some of the pics we got this week of you two in your wedding album. :)

we went hiking a couple times, one of my favorite things to do in AZ.  beck's all snuggled in the 'deuter' backback, which he got the privilege of riding on while we hiked.

I think beck might be sleeping in this pic... the gentle bounce of the hike seemed to lull him to sleep.

turns out that an umbrella while hiking is a multi purpose device and can be used for any or all of the following:  a walking stick, an accessory, or a way to shield your baby from the sun... it's the new trend in AZ.  doesn't B wear the look well?

hiking with all 3 kids...

... is done like this.  at one point I was pushing B from behind to give her a boost getting the stroller up a steep hill (picture this with Beck on my back).  we really wish we could have captured that one on camera.  a few bystanders thought we were nuts I'm sure!  but if you have hiked while pushing a stroller or with a kid on your back you'll know it adds quite a nice intensity to the hike.

the next best thing to going to the pool?  playing outside in the baby tub!  not that a pool wasn't available... we must not have been up for toting the kiddos.

georgia's diaper couldn't contain another drop of water so it came off.  beck slept through most of the bathtub fun, so he managed to keep his on...

probably checking out georgia  :)

beckham gets a hug.  very sweet of you georgia.  I love it that you can't see her face... just her butt!

georgia and beckham watching a "movie show" as georgia would call it.

georgia doing a good job of sharing her toys with beck.

beck really liked this toy, but couldn't really walk behind it, although it kind of looks like he is in the pic.  he would stand and push it forward, leaning as far as he could without falling and at the last minute would take a step.  he usually resorted to just pushing it back and forth on the floor.

B and I decided to give our hair a color lift... I wasn't quite as careful as I thought I was when applying the color to B's hair and left her with a few beauty marks on her forehead (and a big one on the back of her neck.. that one was more like a birth mark!).  luckily for me she has bangs... and I think it washed off fairly quickly  :)

the males of the house doing some bonding...  this was probably taken during one of the times seth watched the kids for a few hours so B and I could do a few things outside of the house without kids.  thanks seth!

georgia likes to put on other people's shoes and clothes.  she's sporting my tank top as a dress in this shot.  very stylish G.

very thankful for the mini van that can hold 3 carseats in the middle bench! (beck is on the other side of georgia)  at one point all 3 of the kids were crying at the same time on the way home from a quick shopping trip.  all you can do is laugh at it and hope you don't get many red lights!  I got a video of it but can't seem to get it to load correctly...

cute and super sweet little norah who is quite under represented in this post. she just kept to herself and was a great little girl during the week!  she loves to give people sweet smiles and coo at them... makes you feel pretty special!

B and I's night out sans kiddos!  we went to my favorite restaurant in phoeniz called Postino's.  it specializes in all different creative kinds of bruschette.  delicious!  I think my favorite was one with ricotta, tomatoes, arugula and bacon on it.  second was probably pesto with smoked salmon.  the picture shows our appetizer (we did not go home hungry!)... a fun assortment of meats, cheeses, veggies, and another favorite - pretzel bread.  yum!

one of my favorite things we did was having B take some one year pics of beck.  I will post more once he's actually one, but here's a sneak preview....

we're excited to come visit again...
