one month

One month has flown by already since Creighton was born.  And what is it like being a mother of two instead of just one?  It's definitely more challenging and I wouldn't say that I'm not overly loving this stage right now... hum, sounds horrible to say.  Don't get me wrong... babies are sweet and I'm thankful for Creighton, but feeling needed by both him and Beckham at the same time can be stressful and exhausting!  However, I do not want to wish away any stage and it can be my tendency to look ahead and think the next stage is going to be easier or better in some way (like when they can play together and entertain each other :)).

Beckham spoiled me by sleeping through the first month of his life, so in comparison to that, Creighton seems like a much needier baby.  But maybe he's just normal and is awake a normal amount of time and cries a normal amount of time.  It just takes some time for babies to adjust to life outside of the womb, right?  With Beck, it seemed like after month two things were more routine, scheduled, predictable... all those things that make me happy and my world seem right.  I think I'm going to have to just let some things go a little more with two kids.  Really, I'm just selfish and it takes more of my time and energy to take care of two kids than one, so it's hard to transition to that.  It's funny how you can always look back on the previous stage and think about how easy it seemed... life with just Beck wasn't too hard!

So on to pictures...

Here is one of the little cutie (thanks to Ames for the fun little sticker tie):

For Beck, I took pictures each month in his diaper on his changing pad.  I decided to do the same with Creighton today, just to compare.

Here's Creighton:

ah... the double chin is showing up already!
And on to one of Beck.  This one is actually of Beck at two months b/c I didn't take one at one month:

Ok, I'm thinking there is some major resemblance going on here.  Their lips may be different, but other than that they're looking kind of the same... and it's not like me!  (or so I hear :))

Can't believe it's been a month! People always say these sort of stages fly by, but in the moment they don't really feel that way. Esp with no sleep...

Personally, it can get a little old having people tell you the kid you gave birth to doesn't resemble you at all. :)

Em, totally agree with the fact that it can get old having people tell you that your child doesn't look like you, but I tell you what....after 4 kids and them all looking a lot like nick.....you really do get use to it:) and you tend to find yourself saying it on occasions that your child looks like the daddy:).
Its hard to believe that you have a one month old already heather!! I also find that other peoples kids seem to grow fast than mine do:)....feels like you just had him!
