funny faces

Beck makes quite the funny faces, especially during feeding times in his highchair, Especially when he isn't too fond of what I'm feeding him (meaning, he's not enjoying the latest random vegetable concoction I've put together).... as shown below.

maybe if I keep making these funny faces at mom I'll distract her and she'll stop feeding me...

still not loving the food... or maybe it's just fun to stick my tongue out.  mom keeps laughing, so I'll just keep trying this one.

my cardboard box

in the words of alison mcghee in a cute little book of Beckham's... "little boy, so much depends on your big cardboard box"...  Beckham had fun playing in his first cardboard box (and with the packages inside) the other night.  could this be a future favorite toy, that so much fun will depend on?

  

children's museum

the other weekend (actually, it's been almost a month now) we had some visitors! shane and stef beer brought their fam and came to stay with us for a couple nights. it was very fun to catch up with them and get to know the kiddos a little better! one of the activities for the weekend was a visit to the children's museum, which we haven't been to since we've lived in Indy, and I actually can't remember the last time I visited. overall, we were very impressed with the museum and will definitely look into getting a membership once Beck's old enough to really enjoy it...

Liv and Beck having fun playing in the water... this is one of the few things I remembered doing at the Children's museum when I was a kid and I Loved it! there's something about playing with water that's so fun...

Gav was the perfect age for enjoying the museum and could have stayed and played at every exhibit for much longer than time allowed! his favorite was the dinosaurs, so maybe that's the exhibit we can look forward to spending the most time in with Beck? it seems to me that liking dinosaurs is a pretty common little boy thing...

taking his first "tractor ride"... we thought this one looked like a CAT truck. don't worry Beck, I'm sure one day dad will take you to work and you'll get to sit on the real thing!

Beck found one thing he could do! crawl around in the "under 2" area.. which is still too broad of an age range if you ask me. 2 year olds can run right over babies, and I felt like he was still in the way of the 'older' kids... so really they need an "under 1" or "can't yet walk" area. :)

I was personally quite impressed with this glass sculpture which is 3 stories tall I believe. a few facts: the glass pieces were actually made in Seattle and shipped to Indy, where they were then put on a stand with prongs coming out of it (for the glass tubes to slide onto). any ideas for how much it weighs?? .... how about 18,000 lbs!

my favorite things

So I think that it's pretty easy for mom to think that I'm just getting into trouble when I go around the house and play with my favorite things.  Well, if she would just spend a little more time crawling around on the floor, she would realize that I like all these things not just b/c they are different than my same old boring toys, but these are these are the things I see in my world!  Here are a few of my favorites lately...

Note to self:  this thing falls over then I pull on it.  It's almost hit my head twice... I'm hoping the third time's the charm and I remember not to pull it over again.

But mom, isn't playing in the water a good thing, like during bath time?

Another great noise-maker! 

Mom and dad have Lots of shoes for me to play with.  I also like to open and close this door, especially when mom is in the closet getting dressed... I trap her inside. :)

I'm surprised I was strong enough to pull this thing down the other day, with all the strange things that mom puts in here. I think it's stuff for her hair...

Not only do I like to mess with the wood in that box, I also like to practice my plank by putting my hands on the bricks and toes on floor, kind of like push-up position... maybe that will be my next exercise to work on.

Tearing up paper is Always fun!

I'm pretty interested in this guy and he loves to hang out right beside me.. not sure why.  But sometimes he goes a little overboard with the licking and tries to steal my toys.  Guess I'll have to pull on his hair a little harder next time...

Sorry mom, you're going to just have to keep a close eye on me for the next little bit of my life b/c my curiosity isn't going away!

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that my very favorite thing to mess with is dad's laptop, so this post was very fun for me to type.  I'll have to do it again soon.  :)

Tissue?

Cold?  Tooth?  Maybe some of both... one thing that's for sure is we have been doing a lot of nose wiping around here between Beck's obviously runny nose and my case of fall allergies... gross!

I wanna be a friend of yours...

The other night Chad and I babysat Emerson for a couple hours and got a taste of what life would be like with 2 babies.  Although it would be crazy, I'm sure there would be lots of fun moments to capture like the ones below. 

Beck is usually the kid who sits back while he's greeted by an overly friendly (usually female :)) baby... however, I think he was pretty excited to have Emerson around and was the one doing the attacking.  Emerson is just sitting back and helping us keep Beck from falling off the couch.  Thanks Emerson.  :)

(side note:  Emerson is 5 mos and Beck is almost 10 mos... either Emerson is really tall or Beck is kinda short, or maybe some of both... )
